St. Lucia 2023

One of our most enjoyable family vacations to date has been to St. Lucia.  Let me share what we learned about this beautiful island with you, and give you some tips and ideas for your family's vacation to St. Lucia!

First things first, St. Lucia is not an in-expensive Caribbean vacation.  It is definitely on the more expensive side, so you'll want to plan ahead for that.  However, we found ways to help cut down on costs where we could.  One option suggestion would be to stay at an all-inclusive resort (there are several to choose from!).  We did not go that route.  We stayed at The Landings and I would 100% stay there again.  Our room was larger than our home!  We had three bedrooms, 4 bathrooms, a full kitchen, laundry in our room, our own jacuzzi on our balcony - it was heavenly.  You can check out the room tour I did on TikTok HERE.

We knew beforehand that we were going to have a full kitchen, so we packed a lot of groceries with us, and then we did some grocery shopping while we were there.  The Landings does offer a grocery service for you - you simply fill out a form online with what you want and they will make sure your kitchen is stocked before you arrive.  The Landings does have an all inclusive package option if you would like to go that route - we just opted to not go that route.

Driving around town is a bit...intense.  If you have kiddos (or adults) that get car sick, you will definitely want to take precautions.  This is especially true for the transfer from the airport to your hotel.  I only have one person in my household that gets carsick and he loves PSI Bands.  They worked great for him on this trip as well!

Now for the fun!  We spent most days at the beach. We found the beach at The Landings to be perfect.  It wasn't crowded, we had no issues finding chairs whenever we wanted, and because all of the non-motorized water equipment was available for our use whenever we wanted at no additional charge, we had plenty to keep ourselves busy! Another nice thing about The Landings is that it is within walking distance of Pigeon Island National Park; a good spot for a quick morning hike!  It does cost $10/adult and $3/child, so keep that in mind when heading over that way.

We did have two non-beach days, where we went out and did some exploring.  One day we headed up into the rain forest to go zip-lining.  We did this activity through Rainforest Adventures and it was great!  You can add on transfers if you'd like and they will pick you up at your hotel and then bring you back.  I will say the zip-lines were't  too high or intimidating, so it was perfect for our 10 year old who had never been.

Our week in St. Lucia was absolutely amazing!  All three of our kids decided that it was their favorite trip they've been on to date - that's beating out Disneyland, Disney World and a Disney Cruise! If you would like help planning your family's trip to St. Lucia, I would love to help you!  Simply fill out a travel request form and I'll be in contact within 24 hours to help you get started!
