Did you know some of the best bioluminescent bays in the world are in Puerto Rico?

Bioluminescent ocean waves in Puerto Rico
Puerto Rico has three bioluminescent bays; Mosquito Bay (which boasts the brightest bio bay), Laguna Grande and La Parguera. There are numerous tours available to take you to see this breathtaking occurrence, but only in La Parguera will be able to dive in and swim at night (if that's of interest to you, make sure your tour operator allows for that during their tours). While bioluminescence is visible year round in Puerto Rico, it is best seen December through July. You can find additional information about these bays HERE.
Puerto Rico is an amazing vacation option for those who do not have a passport. Great outdoor activities, historical venues, gorgeous beaches and delicious food - what more could you ask for in a tropical island vacation? While you're planning your trip to Puerto Rico, be sure to check out Project Expedition for tours and excursions. They're my go to provider for excursions no matter where I travel!
