Travel Friendly Gift Ideas: Kids Edition

Traveling with kids can feel like a 3 ring circus, but with a great bag of tricks, it doesn't have to feel so chaotic.  Even better is that all of these gift ideas (with the exception of one) are less than $30, making them incredibly affordable!

Infant spinning toys

Infant Fidget Spinners

These fidget spinners are popular baby toys.  And why not?  They're cute and fun.  Even better is the fact that these have a suction cup on the back of them, so they can stick to tables, trays and windows.  Keep baby entertained while keeping the games of "pick up" at a minimum!

writing ta

Writing Tablet

Most kids love to pass the time coloring, doodling and drawing.  However, crayons, markers and colored pencils can be problematic.  They roll everywhere, they're messy and once they're dull, nobody wants to use them anymore.  These writing tablets are a fun substitute and you can easily just toss them in the bag on your way out the door!

corgi neck pillow

Corgi Neck Pillow

I know.  A neck pillow doesn't seem like the most exciting gift to get.  However, when it's a corgi neck pillow, it somehow becomes magical!  When we gifted this pillow to our 9 year old, she wore it around her neck all day, every day for the entirety of winter break.  She still sleeps with it nightly.  And, yes.  She uses it on every trip.

headphones

Children's Headphones

For the sake of everyone's sanity, I highly recommend headphones For every person in your family.  Obviously, they're required if your child will be using any devices on a flight.  However, you want them for the car too.  Trying to listen to three different people listening to their music/shows/games is enough to drive me batty!  We like these because they're comfortable and they come in a variety of colors.  That way, everyone can have the same pair (to avoid fighting), but still be able to differentiate whose is whose (again the fighting).

wireless earbuds

Wireless Earbuds

I'll admit I was a little skeptical about these when I first purchased them.  But I also didn't want to spend $$$ on AirPods that were going to get lost or broken.  Let me tell you...these wireless earbuds have been great!  My boys have managed to keep the same pairs for years now, and they wear them pretty much all day/every day.  And, they're less than $30, which is nice too.

GoPro camera

GoPro Camera

Okay.  So obviously a GoPro isn't going to be a gift idea for your children.  Maybe for your family?  Or your significant other.  But my teens have enjoyed using our GoPro to make videos while on vacation.  I think for older teens who have an interest in photograhpy/videopgraphy (and are responsible enough), this is a great idea.  Added bonus is it may help your teens be a bit more excited about family activities that they otherwise wouldn't have been so excited about.

This is just the tip of the iceburg when it comes to great travel items for kids and teens.  Go check out my entire Traveling With Kids list and then come back and tell me if I've forgotten anything!  And, just as a reminder, his post may contain affiliate links, which means I make a small amount of money without it costing you anything.

Happy travels!
